The baobab provides raw materials valuable to our health and well-being.
The baobab is a tropical plant, which is found spontaneously in Africa and grows to gigantic sizes.
When ripe, its fruit is naturally dry and it provides the local population with a range of irreplaceable active ingredients. In addition, the selling of Baobab products offers the population a dignified existence.
Leaves, fruit, and roots are used as food and medicinal substances.
The fruit is an unmatchable source of Vitamin C (six times as much as an orange). Its anti-inflammatory, probiotic, and viscosity-elevating qualities, as well as its high concentration of dietary fibers and calcium (twice as much as milk) make it an interesting resource as a food, dietary supplement, and natural cosmetic.
The oil, which can be extracted from the small seeds, is soothing to the skin and helpful with burns (and sunburns).
The leaves function as effective bacteriostatic and anti-inflammatory agents. Mixed with water, they form a thick gel.
The red structural fibers (red fibers) are powerful free-radical scavengers. Through their considerably stronger potency, they eclipse the other natural and artificial antioxidants (such as OPC or BHA).
Naturally, our baobab is certified organic. We are often asked about the topic of sustainability. In this context, the report resulting from a 2005 study by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development is certainly of interest. The study can be downloaded here. [235 KB]
